Every teacher I’ve asked to refer to me as Rae has complied happily, without question.

No one gives a shit about your sexual orientation here, either. And one of my teachers asked what gender I identify as, because of my name - I just thought that was pretty cool of her. (She knows me well enough to know I wouldn’t be offended by the question either, lol.) I even explained the whole genderqueer thing and she didn’t question it or look at me funny.

The east coast is so different in some ways.

Like, when we did a walk-out on that inappropriate teacher a month or two ago and no one got in trouble. And how students are allowed to protest about things in front of the school (and have on multiple occasions). That could never happen in any of the schools I’ve been to on the east coast.
